Order picking, normally called "picking" is an activity that requires a labor-intensive. Precisely for this reason, it can represent a significant cost for any distribution system. Adopting BT Autopilot technology and integrating it with voice-activated devices and the warehouse management system, the BT Autopilot AOP can literally revolutionize the whole process of picking, increasing productivity by up to 40% more and thus reducing costs substantially.
The BT AOP uses series products with additional features of automation, is flexible and able to operate to the left of manual processes. The concept is very simple: the staff within the process only has to transfer each item from the sampling point on the unit load. Everything else can be automated.
With BT AOP, the operator receives instructions via headphones, as defined by the warehouse management system (WMS). At the first sampling point the operator will find a trolley BT AOP pending receipt of selected items - itself directed at that point by the WMS.
